Interfarm WebObjects application
dimensions switches to webobjects
Dimensions contacted us to check the poor performance of their Interfarm webapplication. Their application was based on FileMaker and Lasso and ran on a 400 MHz. PowerMac G4. The application had been in use for several years and was extended over time. Performance deteriorated and Dimensions invited us to redesign their application based on WebObjects.
"The new WebObjects based approach let's us scale the system and allows us to keep pace with a growing number of visitors. Second Move employees even motivated us to study WebObjects and we're now able to maintain the new application and even implemented some minor enhancements." according to Peter Somers, managing director of Dimensions.
Performancetests indicate that the current configuration is capable of handling hundreds of concurrent visitor while maintaining satisfactory responsetimes.
The Interfarm webapplication also contains an elaborate management subsystem, integrating it with an existing advertisement-system. It provides comprehensive reports on advertiseractivities, supporting marketeers with relevant indicators.
Interfarm also makes use of Second Move's advanced monitoring system, which now also gathers statistics on Interfarm's volume of trade.
